INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH would like to introduce you to the judge of BVLA’s GOLDEN AWARD in EARMAGEDDON 2012:
Paul Stoll is the owner of the oldest active body piercing shop in the world, BODY MANIPULATIONS in San Francisco, and a very well-respected body piercer in the body piercing community. Growing up in the perfect city at the perfect time to get into piercing, Paul started practicing his future art on himself in 1989… at the ripe young age of 15! After a few years of learning what he could from who he could, he opened his own piercing business within a hair salon in the Haight district. In 1997, still yearning for something more, Paul went to work for Vaughn at the world renowned Body M. Through planning and perseverance, Paul eventually took over ownership of Body M from Vaughn, ushering in a new generation and matured the business into what it is today. Paul is very active in promoting safe body art practices in California, and is well known for his love of everything gold body jewelry, which has earned him the moniker… Goldfinger.

Erik Dakota was a body piercer and a visionary at a time when the modern body piercing scene was just taking shape and gaining steam in the early 1990’s. Under the tutelage of Fakir Musafar , Erik pushed the envelope of what was already being done in the body piercing world a little further. He experimented with and perfected placement of piercings in the ear that had not yet been done before. He allowed the first recipients of some of these new experimental piercings to name them; the “rook” and the “daith” piercings being two of those piercings that are still done today… every day. He also forged new paths by figuring out the logistics of having a single piece of jewelry go through 2 or more piercings at once. This led to the wild ear masterpieces that he created , that led him to coin the term for them… the “Industrial Ear Project”. This piercing, of course, has spawned the popularity and the name of the ever-popular “Industrial” piercing that is done quite often nowadays.

EARMAGEDDON 2012 News Update:
The start date is set for March 1st, which is when INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH will begin accepting applications from professional body piercers all over the world to enter the second coming of their Ear Project Challenge, EARMAGEDDON 2012. The last day that entries will be taken will be July 31st. We know that some of you out there have already got some projects in the works, and we can’t wait to see what you guys come up with this year! We will post the rules here on the Contests page a couple of days before then. There will be some changes to some things from the previous year, but nothing too major.

There will be an addition of an “old school” category… for entrants who use basic jewelry that was available in the 90′s. There have been some pretty cool basic jewelry ear projects than have been executed over the years, by some pretty talented earchitects. We wanted to pay homage to where it all came from by giving the genre its own prizes. All who qualify to enter the “old school” category will also be entered into the main category.
Going counter-clockwise from the bottom left:

1) TBJ-3/32”/TPRBJ-3/32” combo (Titanium Ball Joint-3/32”/Titanium Prong Ball Joint-3/32”)
2) TB-1/8”/TPRBJ-3mm combo (Titanium Ball-1/8”/Titanium Prong Ball Joint-3mm)
3) TB-5/32”/TPRBJ-4mm combo (Titanium Ball-5/32”/Titanium Prong Ball Joint-4mm)

This piece was put together to show off the three different sizes of ball joint pivot ends that are available.

In the center, there are five TUH6 (Titanium Universal Hub-6 hole); one with nothing attached, and four with various attachments. Starting with the naked one, and going counter-clockwise:
1) This shows you what a TUH6 looks like without anything attached to it.
2) This is a TUH6 with six TBJ-3/32” (Titanium Ball Joint-3/32”) screwed into it.
3) This is a TUH6 with three TDTD-5mm (Titanium Double Threaded Disk-5mm) screwed into three of the six holes, and the opposite thread of each TDTD is covered up by a TBJI-3/32” (Titanium Ball Joint Internal-3/32”)
4) This is a TUH6 (anodized copper) with three TBJ-3/32”(anodized yellow) screwed into three of the six holes. Attached to each of the three TBJ-3/32” are three TPRBJ-3/32”(anodized copper)… and what happens when you combine those two threaded ends together? That’s right… it creates a double threaded end that pivots!
5) This is a TUH6 that has six TDST 14/14 (Titanium Double Sided Thread-14g/14g) screwed into all six holes. The TDST, which is also available in 14g/16g, enables the TUH6 to be connected to barbells. They also can be used to connect other internally threaded parts together! Pretty neat, huh?

And in the pile to the left of miscellaneous parts, the only thing pictured that I haven’t described yet are the TTE-14g (Titanium Threaded Eye-14g). There are three pictured (one on the bottom left, and two in the middle on the right), and they can be screwed into any 14g internal part. To the eye part could be attached; dangles, jump rings, chain, etc…
So, what do you think about that?!!

I wanted to get you all excited about what is on the horizon.

In this picture there are three orbits. The two on the bottom are orbits that are already in our catalog (TBFGO3 & TBFG04). They both have the TBJI-3/32”(Titanium Ball Joint Internal-3/32”) screwed on to cover all of th…e threads. Attached to each of the TBJI, is a TPRBJ-3/32”… and those two ends combined, create a double sided threaded end that pivots. Screwed into the TPRBJ are straight barbells… but you could use 14g curves, circulars…whatever you want.

The third orbit, the one on the top, is not in the catalog yet. It is set with a BKO (black faux-pal), and there are three 14g threads protruding from the top… and three miniature “eyes” that are affixed underneath. The code for it is TFPGO6B1, which is the code for the orbit without the dangles. You could order it with or without the dangles attached, and can also now order dangles separately.

In our grand master plan to turn piercers into body jewelers… a piercer could have many variations from our ever emerging line of DIY body jewelry… and create absolutely stunning masterpieces on their own!

These items will be available to be ordered very soon. I wanted to get you all excited about what is on the horizon.

Pictured on the left, is a little thing I threw together (a body jeweler could too!). It consists of a TUH6 (Titanium Universal Hub-6 hole), that has screwed into it a TBJ-3/32” (Titanium Ball Joint-3/32”) on the bottom, and two TFPGO2-4mm (in the catalog) and one TFPGO2-6mm (in the catalog) on the top. Screwed on over each of the opposite threads of the three orbits are TBJI-3/32” (Titanium Ball Joint Internal-3/32”), and connected to all three of those are TPRBJ-3/32”(Titanium Prong Ball Joint-3/32”). Screwed onto all three of the TPRBJ-3/32” are TBB (Titanium Barbell) with TSB-5/32” (Titanium Spiked Ball-5/32”). It is all anodized dark blue and light blue.

Pictured on the right is another thing I threw together (you could too!). It consists of a TFPCGO3-6mm (in the catalog) that has two TCUBB (Titanium Curved Barbell) screwed onto two of the threads…with TSB-5/32” (Titanium Spiked Ball-3/32”) screwed onto them. The remaining thread on the orbit is covered by a TBJI-3/32” (Titanium Ball Joint Internal-3/32”), and attached to that is a TPRBJ-3/32”(Titanium Prong Ball Joint-3/32”). Screwed onto the TPRBJ-3/32” is a TBB (Titanium Barbell) with a TB-5/32” (Titanium Ball-5/32”). I anodized it all pink… for the ladies. Are you guys ready to get busy?
